Review of Villa Ridge, Missouri

Villa Ridge, Missouri (Has Rich history).
Star Rating - 6/23/2009
Villa Ridge, Missouri was settled by early tobacco plantation owners, who brought their slaves with them from Kentucky (long before the civil war).
The Coleman house (Located across from Coleman School) was the largest plantation in the area until the Civil war, when Union troops stormed the property, stole the livestock, freed the slaves, and use the property as a hospital until the end of the war.

The existing culture of the area still leans towards Southern ways and traditions to this day. The area is proud of its history, and some property owners fly the confederate battle flag in honor of their fallen ancestestors. (Not a hate issue).
